So I went

wentIt's kinda depressing the whole way there.

I was just thinking, you know, I've been doing comedy for 10 years in New York, and now two years in LA, and I'm still this broke, and I don't have any representation.

I don't have a manager or an agent.

Maybe it's not going so well, and maybe it's time to, uh, think about doing something else.

I was really down about it.

It's not a good thing going to the social services office.

[laughs]

Way down in the hole.

When I was 19 years old, I moved to the Upper East Side of Manhattan, started college, started comedy, and was selling light bulbs, uh, to businesses door-to-door to make money.

And I didn't like that much, the light bulb part of that.

[laughs] I didn't like the college part much either, but it doesn't fit the story.

I, uh...

So I was looking for something else.

I wanted to figure out another way to make money, and, and I really didn't want to have a day job.And I came upon a specie of hairless cat [laughing] known as the Cornish Rex at a pet shop on Lexington Avenue and 78th Street called Pets on Lex, and I had an idea.
