I'm Kevin Knight, joined today by the AJC's Daniel Flick for a recorded episode.

And yeah, we tried to find a Panthers guest for you guys, but we're just going to have to go with one of the Falcons' GOAT reporters, and that is Daniel Flick.

Absolutely.

You know, we both know a pretty good amount about the Panthers, too.

Now I think it's more like 18% or something.

so it's still low but it's not the death knell really that it used to be um but i will say that uh it's it's not good and then you have a thursday night game on a short week against the the green bay packers who didn't look you know looked good in the first half and then completely fell apart against the vikings maybe they're not unassailable but i don't know how the falcons are assailing anyone with cooper rush if that's still the plan in week three so Uh, we'll, we'll see how that goes, but Daniel, uh, it's been fantastic catching up and, and, you know, mostly we talked about the quarterbacks guys and that's, that's where most of our energy and interest is going to be until this gets resolved one way or another, but really appreciate you coming on Daniel.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Daniel Flick of the Atlanta Journal Constitution and Morgan Adsit of Fox Baltimore.

They cover the Atlanta Falcons and the Baltimore Ravens, two of the teams that I covered for football guys training camp reports.

I talked with Daniel about Tua Tagovailoa's impact on the offense now that he has been named quarterback.

And then with Morgan, we talked about Declan Doyle's offensive scheme change in Baltimore, the impact that it's going to have on Derrick Henry, how Lamar Jackson is moving around, and Jacoby Lane, wide receiver, rookie, that's stepping in in Baltimore and making a big impact as well.

welcome into the football guys dynasty show i am joined by daniel flick and daniel is the falcons beat reporter for the atlanta journal constitution daniel is boots on the ground in training camp every single day and i got this opportunity i've been covering the falcons now for our training camp reports for about five years and i just wanted to go through and ask some questions coming off of this but first off daniel if you want to take a minute and how you doing introduce yourself and maybe give a temperature check on how the team's feeling coming into this

Yeah, happy to have fun with you, man.

But man, Trey Hendrickson and what he was able to provide in terms of that pressure and rush element on the defense was a key factor in this week one win.

Also from NFL Next Gen Stats, Daniel Flick, friend of the show, has also been a guest appearance here.

Falcons beat writer mentions, and this is the negative word for Cooper Rush, Cooper Rush did not complete a pass when pressured.

Rush particularly struggled when holding onto the ball for longer than two and a half seconds.

into Friday morning with the Atlanta Falcons and the situation with Tua and an oblique injury, and we're also sitting and waiting to see what happens with Joey Porter Jr. with the Steelers, and even his ramp-up process might be ramped up a little bit more, but I think Friday's going to be a very interesting day to see how they ultimately list him on the injury report, assuming no deal gets done before the end of practice or before that's due, so...

And then on top of everything else, we've got a great interview with Daniel Flick of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution to help get us ready for the Falcons-Steeners game on Sunday.

So what an opening there.

I'm like, "They're not gonna get to the playoffs, and if they get to the playoffs, then they're gonna be in chase mode the whole time, so you're not gonna have the luxury to set up your playoff rotation." And he was saying that Skeens should be the guy, and I don't think he should be.

Absolutely.

Like, if he, if he helps get you there, great.

His, his last two shutout outings have been very deceiving.

He's just a different guy.

What are you drinking? Is that tea, coffee? What are we, what are we sucking down there?

So I think a lot of people are more so intrigued to see Michael, intrigued to see if he can kind of grab the bull by the horns a little bit.

Daniel, I want to get to the other side of the ball here and talk some defense.

So I do think their secondary, if anything is probably the strength right now of that unit.

Um, it's going to, I think their nickel situation will be interesting to see, but I do think at least internally, there's a lot of confidence in that group.

And I'd like to chalk this up to someone was doing this for him, and they accidentally forgot to post it from a different account, the compliment, but, you know... insult to injury I don't know this is do we really look into this that much and we're like oh what a gaffe he's going to be a terrible quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons he might be a terrible quarterback because he might be a terrible quarterback period without the social media blunder

no it's it's undoubtedly it's insult to injury it's just funny it's a funny bit but in the same vein number one I do want to fact check us because Daniel Flick does a great job covering the Falcons for the AJC has joined us here on ESPN radio before Did tweet this out yesterday.

Tua in the spring was quoted in saying that he does not run his social media accounts.

Quote, I don't have social media, so I don't see any of that.
