And you worked for Lorna at Ujima Theater Company.

Yeah.

I actually went to SUNY Purchase for acting after graduating from Performing Arts, and there was a summer where I needed to just scrape together a little bit of extra cash to make my semester payment.

And I had a chat with Lorna about that, and she looked at me, she said, "Daniel, how much do you need?" And I told her the amount, and she took out a checkbook, and she wrote the exact amount I needed to go to school.

And she said, "You're working for me this summer." That summer, I was just side by side with her, working with her and the company, and it just meant the entire world to me.

So now that I'm making my Broadway debut, of course, I'm thinking of her all the time.

And what would you say to another kid who's now going to your high school, BAFPA? What would you say to someone who wants to have a career like yours? What would you tell them today?
