Daniel 3

So we are going to be in Daniel 3.

I'd love for you to join me there, right there.

We'll stay in that chapter for the next few minutes.

I don't know if it's any different from past years, but the last couple of days, finally, I felt a little bit in the early morning.

In the middle of the night, maybe a little bit of a cool feeling in the air, so that's always fun when we get to this time of year.

Daniel 3.

Man, I like guarantees.

I'm guessing I'm not alone in that.

Please pay close attention.

I'm assuming you know a little bit about the Bible, okay? In the days of Daniel, Daniel and Revelation go hand in hand.

Understand Revelation, you need some Old Testament stories for it to make sense.

Revelation 13 tells us that the beast power is going to make an image and those that do not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

You go to Daniel 3, the king, Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, makes a great image.

Those who do not worship the image should be killed.

God's people, namely Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, would not bow down and worship the image of the beast because that violates the second commandment.

We had a study that talked about the importance of the commandments.

It's definitely not, I'm not sure if they consider this apocryphal.

It's kind of like there's these two little tiny books that are added on to the Book of Daniel in the Septuagint.

I think one of them is called Susanna, right? And the next one's called Belle and the Dragon.

Mm-hmm.

And yeah, it's interesting, but it's funny as Josh did that, I was like, you know what? I haven't read the book of Daniel and the Septuagint yet.

So I just went ahead and just read the whole thing.

And I did the funny, ironically, he wanted me to read the alternate version.

I didn't read the alternate version.

It's good to point out flaws in their worldview to show them why they need Christ, to show them why their religion doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

But don't neglect to preach the gospel to them don't neglect to communicate to them the central message of Christianity and that is that Jesus came to the world to save us and how Islam doesn't have a savior doesn't have anyone who's going to pay for our sins but Christianity does and show them how we've all seen we all deserve hell and how the only solution to that is what Christ did Someone's asked, hey, Ryan, in Daniel 3, is Jesus the one in the furnace or was it an angel? Also, when Jacob wrestled God, was he wrestling Jesus? Okay.

So we'll answer the last part first.

So Jacob wrestling God, was that Jesus? Possibly.

There was a fourth man.

Let me bring up.

says here this is daniel 3 25. um like they asked basically did we not cast three men bound in the fire he answered but i see four men unbound walking in the midst of the fire and they're not hurt and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods so It doesn't uniquely, from this we can't definitively know that this is talking about Jesus Christ here.

Just because the text itself doesn't tell us that this could have been Jesus, could have been Jesus, or it could have been an angel.

They love the gold and the opulence, the golden image.

There's a 90-foot gold image that Nebuchadnezzar had in Daniel 3.

And we have the image of Donald Trump.
