Danger Zone

A little Top Gun.

It's Danger Zone.

I'm sorry.

Who sings that? It's Kenny.

Kenny Watkins, yeah.

Is it Top Gun or is it Danger Zone? It's Danger Zone, but it's from Top Gun.

From Tucson, that's exactly right.

By the way, too, I left off Big Sarge is also our Friday staple at 930.

And today we're going back into the 1980s and doing a thing that I've done before, but haven't done actually in a while, and that's kind of go back to an anniversary year as it were, because it is, you know, 2026, so it's time to go back to 1986 to talk about one of the, probably one of the biggest songs from that year, as it was featured on one of the biggest movies of that year.

The song I'm going to be talking about for you today is Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins, which of course was off the soundtrack to the film Top Gun, released on April 24th, 1986.

And of course, like I said, Top Gun, one of the top films of the, not just 1986, but the 80s in general.

And the soundtrack was actually the best-selling soundtrack of the year.

So, but that's another tangent for another day.

But there you go.

There is Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins.

Again, one of 86's biggest hits as we continue on this journey here.

That was Skeens.

No, he, he did Danger Zone.

Or n- is that-

I don't know

It's debatable which one is the most famous.

I think probably the most famous, not the biggest hit, was this song from Kenny Loggins, Danger Zone.

Highway through the danger zone.

I'll take you riding through the danger zone.

I think I...

Did I just like guzzle a, a gallon of Haterade before I walked in and had to start this?

I, I think he probably wrote it for the movie specifically after he was-

I mean-

we're all gonna watch that now i will tell you this

i will tell you this there's nothing like the opening scene of danger zone starting and they actually had kenny loggins re-record it for the second movie and it did not get the response they wanted and they went back and put the original version in and audiences went wild

so there you go

Jake, did Toy Story 5 win for the weekly movie? Yeah, right now it's ahead, yes.
