As well as being an accomplished fire eater, Michael holds the dubious distinction of having written the last how-to article published in Theater Crafts magazine.

He has worked with Wake Forest's Firebox Theater, acting as lighting designer for A Piece of My Heart, The Foreigner, Anna Christie, Dancing at Lughnasa, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

He has been working with lighting at Burning Coal for the last two seasons.

Before moving to Wendell in twenty twenty, he was in South Florida, where he spent three seasons as master electrician for Palm Beach Drama Works, eleven seasons at Florida Stage, three years as lighting director of Bailey Concert Hall at Broward College, several seasons with Virginia Opera, much time on the former SS Norway, as well as more time on tour than he would care to admit.
