He's not ready to ride into your sunset just yet.
D
21:25Dylan StoneHOST
Written in LA, cooked up with Dan Wilson, recorded at Nashville's historic RCA Studio A, and co-produced by Morgan Stapleton and Dave Cobb, this track gallops through rock-driven western vibes and raw, raspy emotion.
D
21:39Dylan StoneHOST
Critics, awards, and even a CMA and Grammy or two later, Stapleton proves the legend of the white horse is complicated.

THE THUNDRED: The 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders of All Time (#20 - #1)

I just think Semi-Sonic has so many better songs.
M
49:08Matt KellyHOST
Like, I can think of at least four songs off the top of my head that are better than Closing Time in their catalog, but they are, like, when you think of a 90s one-hit wonder song that did not go away and kind of became this impossible hurdle for the band to get over... closing time is at the top of that list of just i think they were ready to move on from closing time and instead this song just got overexposed and to a detriment i think it hurt this band i think that any single that they put out people were ready to hate because they were so done with hearing the song closing time at that point and it is severely unfair dan wilson's fine though he's gone on to be an incredible songwriter throughout music history so you know he got what he wanted i remember on the demakes episode he actually said i always wanted to be a singer songwriter anyway like i wanted to write songs for other people more than myself so this was a great foot in the door for him to fulfill that dream um please go and listen to semi-sonic that's my takeaway from this episode everybody go listen to their music it's great
