Dan Slott

Well, the Spider-Verse run is strange.

It's written by Dan Slott and Christos Gage.

Um... and a whole bevy of artists.

And it was across a range of titles, it was like 20 issues.

Dan Slott was really obsessed with Spider-Man's costume.

A lot of his story arcs were about Spider-Man getting different costumes or something like this.

So this is almost perfect for him, like eventually it's gonna happen where he needed to have 10 different Spider-Man running around in different costumes.

you know it's got a slew of creators joe kelly frank miller uh dan slott jt matthias brian brian michael bendis uh rob free who's also the director of character development at wwe as well so and larry lieber so i mean you're getting all these big name writers are ready for this comic And then you're just kind of throwing in somebody else who he's not looking to do this full time.

I mean, he has such a busy schedule.

So the fact that this is, you know, right around the corner, amazing Spider-Man number 1000 is coming out on the 30th.

Pretty cute little movie.

Go read Brand New Day, the comic, everybody, by Dan Slott, Mark Guggenheim, and many others.

Some of it's good.

Much of it is good, I think.

I guess the brand new day part.

Dan Slott era is my Spider-Man run, man.

Dan Slott, Spider-Man, my Spider-Man.

I love Dan Slott.

I mean, like, you know, like I always think back to, you know, like say like s- not that, not, not that he is someone, an artist that I kind of went this way and that with.

But like Stuart Immonen and Dan Slott were like all of a sudden like it's felt like it like locked in Dan Slott's storytelling and, and, and whatnot.

Like sometimes just two people mesh in an incredible way.

I mean, like, you know, with, with, with Spider-Man/Deadpool I kind of like lost interest in that book because I'm not a Deadpool guy personally.

But, like, yes, I, I, I, I know where you're going with it and I don't, I don't say it's...

I, I don't think it's wrong, but, like, there's nothing in the text that would really lean that far into it.

No, and I, I think it could take just a couple lines to just, like, solidify that and make it an interesting thing, you know? Like, uh, we've seen poor Electro during Dan Slott's run, right? Wasn't he homeless? You know? Like-

Yeah.

By the time I reached high school, I was reading literally dozens of comics every week, and I wanted my career in life to be writing comics.

And so anytime I went to a con or read a magazine like Wizard, I would want to figure out how did people get into this? How do I make that my career? And actually, I remember Dan Slott at a convention talked about how he got into writing through the Marvel internship program.

So I immediately went home and I guess there was no Google at the time.

I can't remember how I did this.

You know, you had a brain trust, they call it.

You had Seb Wells, you had Mark Raid, you had Dan Slott.

I'm sure they had some other writers too, but they were rotating stories, but they worked together on the overall continuity.

And they were great stories.

Some really good news out of Marvel.

First news we remember, like probably about near the beginning of the year, Dan Slott was going on that tour saying, please, please, please pre-order my brand new day book.

You know, Marvel at that point is doing like five issues at a time.

And nothing makes it past 10.

It's very hard if a Marvel book makes it past 10.

Unusual.

Well, Dan Slott just got the news today that brand new day is ongoing.

Well, it's a spectacular Spider-Man brand new day.
