Dan Rivera

She was very much still in her glass case, presumably annoyed.

But in 2025, the doll went on a touring exhibition, and during that tour, one of the paranormal investigators traveling with her, Dan Rivera, died suddenly.

That sent the internet into an absolute frenzy, and the online chatter got way ahead of the facts.

The Warrens have plenty of critics.

And wherever Annabelle went, a man named Dan Rivera went with her.

Dan was a 54-year-old vet, father of four, and the senior investigator for the ghost hunting society that kept the doll.

He was Annabelle's handler, and he didn't take the job lightly.

A few years earlier, when the doll needed to be moved into a new case, Dan had a priest bless him first.

Then he soaked his hands in holy water, pulled on welding gloves, and lifted her out.

Five years later, it happened again.

In the spring of 2025, rumors spread that Annabelle had vanished while on tour in Louisiana.

So the doll's handler took out his phone, walked into the museum, and filmed her sitting right where she belonged.

This time, however, it wasn't a legend from the Warren era.

In 2025, paranormal investigator Dan Rivera, one of the most recognizable modern caretakers associated with Annabelle, was traveling with the doll as part of the Devil on the Run Tour, which, why would you do a tour? I don't know, I wish wouldn't have taken her on it.

Annabelle's going on tour.

Yeah.

I think that's just smart.

Just as a precaution.

While the tour was in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, news suddenly broke that Dan Rivera had died at the age of 54 after being found in his hotel room.

Almost immediately, speculation began.

In 2025, the doll was part of a traveling showcase of Occult Museum artifacts.

After a stop in Pennsylvania, the tour's organizer and host, Dan Rivera, died unexpectedly in his hotel room.

A medical examiner later announced that Rivera had preexisting cardiac issues and that Annabelle was not in the room with him at the time of his death.

But the incident only added to the chilling legacy of this allegedly demonic doll.

[laughs] Yeah, they are.

The Occult Museum closed in 2019, but in 2025, Annabelle went on tour with other artifacts from the museum.

And after a stop in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in July 2025, tour organizer and host Dan Rivera died in his hotel room at age 54, and he had been pictured opening Annabelle's case and holding the doll throughout this tour.

Hmm.

Mm-hmm

... about whether or not Annabelle inflicted this, but, uh, the handler of Annabelle was Dan Rivera.

Yes.

And yeah, had a heart attack and that hap- oh my gosh, that happened over a year ago already.

Monroe, Connecticut.

Dan Rivera and a few colleagues are planning a tour called Devil's on the Run Tour.

But this isn't a rock band or some kind of act.

This was an exhibit of the world's most haunted objects.

Now, here's my little part of possibly defending the Warrens.

okay

there might be some legitimacy to annabelle's being a creepy doll maybe they were right about this one because this was before amityville this was before the conjuring this was before all the book deals maybe this one was legitimate and then it got them into the bigger reality of things and then they became what they became right maybe maybe this is where we get back to the beginning of our story In 2025, Annabelle was on tour with Dan Rivera and several other colleagues doing the Devil on the Run tour, all of the stuff that the Warrens had collected over the years all across America.

Apparently, while Annabelle was on tour, Miss Fortune followed the group wherever they went.
