It is October 14th and wanted to give a couple of updates.

And he's the mayor of Muncie, Indiana.

Okay, so this is an interview, ladies and gentlemen, with Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour.

You've been doing the thing.

The big news of the day is Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour, in an attempt to always make sure that the political spotlight is right, always released it officially today.

It's official today.

Dan Ridenour is announcing and has announced that as of Friday, December 31st, 2027, he will retire and not seek re-election for mayor of Muncie.

This decision to retire at the end of next year is not an easy one for him, apparently, and it's been influenced by several factors over the last year.

Those factors are, one, thoughtful prayer.

It was about doing what was best for, you know...

Well, look at it this way.

The only reason that I have ever said anything about her is because she has attacked me first.

She used to watch this program periodically, and she loved when I talked about the Republicans, and she loved when I called Ridenour out, and she loved when I do what I do.

But the minute that I'm calling a Democrat out or the minute I'm saying something that she doesn't like, then it's this thing that – and a lot of people do this, and it's so horrible.

I hate when someone's like, I love what you're saying.

Then there are the institutions that as of the time that I sent out the inquiries on Wednesday morning today, about between 3 and 5 o'clock in the morning, they had not publicly explained what, if anything, they intend to do.

Who are those institutions? Well, early this morning, we here at the Political Spotlight sent six separate requests for answers.

The first, to the city of Muncie, to Mayor Dan Ridenour and to the Muncie City Council, concerning Dustin Clark's city contract.

He is a city contract employee making $125 an hour.

Okay, so going into the meeting tonight, last night, I was made aware...

Yes, it's Dan Ridenour.

That's the big reveal.

I was made aware of the fact that there were going to be two city councilors not in attendance.

So going into this meeting, I thought, this is going to be interesting because there were seven and not nine people.

And of those seven, there were four Democrats and three Republicans.

Dan Ridenour this year and this council has busted their ass to get into a situation where Dan would be able to do everything that he wanted to do without any pushback.

He would be able to get the budget that he wanted with no pushback.

Solve crimes, but other cities are doubling down on using the cameras.

Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour said he fully supports flock cameras for the positive results it has provided.

He said officers are required to take special training to use the system to reduce misuse.

All we want to do is to help solve crimes, Ridenour said in a video posted to Facebook.
