29:36
So what's with the vitriol, Dan? Our audience hates him.
29:41
I know.
29:42
And I mean, honestly, that's a little bit surprising.
29:45
Not that I have a horse in the race.
29:46
Not that I am, you know, just head over heels with binaries or anything.
29:51
I mean, it's basically gambling, right? Even if it's on an economic event, it's still basically just gambling.
30:00
And I don't necessarily mind gambling when I have an edge anyway.

9 MINS LATER

38:37
Anything leap to mind, John or Dan? I
18:30
Have you been noticing this in aggregate as you've been kind of crunching your own data out there? And are you seeing maybe is it time to adjust your considerations, sir?
18:40
Yeah, I mean, I've I've noticed this the whole thing we've been talking about, you know, the last, you know, at the beginning of the show, you said six to eight quarters where it's tightened up and lean more towards having some option buying opportunities.
18:57
But I, you know, I did, I did notice that, I mean, this, this was a good quarter for our earnings trading.
19:04
I mean, in the earnings trading live class that I do once a quarter, Um, you know, I mean, it, it worked pretty nice, but you know, I avoided some of the key ones like Google.
19:18
I mean, I, gosh, I don't even know if I've ever traded Google going into earnings just because it, it never really models out and was the other one in video, I think was one of the big outperformers too.
19:29
Right.
19:30
So, I mean, I didn't trade any of those and I think, um, This time around, this last earnings season is where we got a lot of those green ones, you know, those option buying opportunities.
23:32
What say you, Dan, to the double middle fingers that our audience has sent your way?
18:30
Have you been noticing this in aggregate as you've been kind of crunching your own data out there? And are you seeing maybe is it time to adjust your considerations, sir?

19:29
Right.
19:30

23:32
What say you, Dan, to the double middle fingers that our audience has sent your way?
10:13
They wanna know, would you rather only ever be able to trade perps or zero DTE options? Which way you going, Dan?
10:21
Oh.
10:21
[laughs] Well, you know, I, I, the, our last episode on perps, it kinda got my brain thinking a little bit.
10:32
And I think one thing that makes for a good market, like the options market for example, is you've got two different groups doing two different things.
10:45
Whereas you have, in the options market, you have position traders and then you have market makers who are basically trading, well, I mean, w- volatility.
10:54
Well, volatility traders.
10:56
I'll do a broader category.

6 MINS LATER

16:40
Reedy wants to know, "Given the relatively low vol environment we're in right now, what option strategies do you think make the most sense? Are you still looking to sell premium or does cheaper vol make you more interested in buying options?" Dan, if you had to, if you had to add up most of your trades right now that you have on, would you say you're leaning long or leaning short?
13:08
Do you have a recent example of a double calendar that you did that you could you could walk our listeners through, sir?
13:14
Yeah, I mean, I just did one in SPX.
13:19
Where I and here I'll state this as like a strangle swap just to kind of bend people's minds in that direction a little bit.
13:29
As an exercise.
13:30
So I bought the, and this was, I think I did this on Monday.
13:36
I bought the August 10th, this is an SPX, 75.15 put and 76.75 call.
13:49
And, you know, the break, I did that because the break evens were a little more than a percent and a half, somewhere between a percent and a half and 2%.

6 MINS LATER

19:28
But this one, just kind of fun.
13:08
Do you have a recent example of a double calendar that you did that you could you could walk our listeners through, sir?
13:14
Yeah, I mean, I just did one in SPX.

But this one, just kind of fun.
29:15
Anything lighting up your tape this week? Any of you or your mentees trading, let's say any Tesla or any Alphabet, any of these big names popping off this week on your radar, sir?
29:25
Well, my earnings trading system is mainly time spreads.
29:31
I will do some straddle sometimes.
29:33
But when you have a name like Tesla, where...
29:39
Oh, gosh, where's the information? Where you have...
29:43
One quarter where they move, they just had some gigantic move.
29:48
But then another quarter where it's like a 0.2% move, it's like you can't do time spreads in case you have one of those big moves, but you can't do straddles in case you have one of those small moves.

23 MINS LATER

53:20
What are you keeping an eye on throughout the weekend until next week?
29:15

28:26
uh all right so um Um, yeah.
28:30
And Elliot, I'm glad that you say I prefer wheel stocks over $30.
28:33
I do, I do some like, you know, TMC, the metal corporation, uh, you know, I wheel that one all the time.
28:40
That one's a great one.
28:42
Uh, but, I prefer it generally over $30 a share for a couple of reasons.
28:48
One is, you know, your commissions start becoming a much bigger percentage of your profits when you're selling options for 20 cents.

5 MINS LATER

34:29
Can I still make money? Is it possible, Dan? Can he still make money if the vol explodes, but the stock just sits
