yeah you know we didn't play them last year like you said they were new in the league last year but i do know this they've got a pretty talented quarterback who's going to run around uh quarterback run games big for them which if you obviously read the game on thursday night you know we struggle with that that's a focus emphasis this week uh they've got a couple big receivers that really are effective catching the ball in space big body kids and then defensively they're pretty multiple you know they kind of line twist and stunt which is some of the issues we had was picking some of that stuff up on thursday night so ironically some of the same challenges that we had on Thursday are going to present themselves again on Saturday and so that's an area emphasis this week got to do a better job of being able to handle their front and then obviously we've got to be able to contain the quarterback a little bit better than we did on Thursday night if we want to be successful but yeah first road trip of the year got to go up to just outside just west of Fargo there up to Jamestown we've been there a couple times in the past we've kind of stopped there and practiced on our way to play other games in the past so we'd somewhat familiar with it have been there before but um yeah we got somewhat of a young team first road trip and all that good stuff but we just got to focus on the things that matter taking care of the football stopping them on third downs getting first downs converting on offense and then hopefully putting the

ball in the end zone and stopping them as much as possible and there you go some keys to the ball game against jamestown that game for usf a one o'clock kick time on saturday later on you got south dakota state at northwestern out of the big 10 7 o'clock on the big 10 network big game for the jackrabbits big opportunity and that's not lost on coach dan jackson
Dan JacksonSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
9:30
yeah it's the same that it that it is every week and uh the guys are focused on going we're going to follow our same procedures and protocols and how we prepare for a game and an opponent Uh, in a lot of ways, this feels to me like we're going out to play Illinois state, you know, it's a road game.
Dan JacksonSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
9:44
Uh, we're going out to Illinois and just getting everybody comfortable with that, uh, there.
Daniel MonroeHOST

but greatest defense of all time
John SmithGUEST
21:03
yes but if you think about you know nicobe dean quay walker and you had Channing Tindall, like you had, you had like, there was always like a little bit of a wild card where, you know, you had like Latavius Bernie was getting cooked to Tennessee and they rolled Christopher Smith down and put in, you know, frigging Dan Jackson of all people.
John SmithGUEST
21:20
It's like, you just had somebody that when something wasn't working, you roll, you know, you rotated some guy to the end, you did something different.
John SmithGUEST
21:28
And that felt like it was missing.
Jeff RisdonHOST
24:22
So I like that one.
Jeff RisdonHOST
24:24
Two names that are not on this list that stand out, and I don't know if they've signed anywhere else yet or not, I have not seen that they have, are the two 2025 draftees from Georgia, Dan Jackson and Dominic Lovett.
Jeff RisdonHOST
24:40
Not going to say that either of them earned real consideration for the 53, but the fact that they're not on the practice squad.

24:48
And
Jeff RisdonHOST
25:00
That is certainly a dynamic that could be in play with Lovett and Jackson.
Jeff RisdonHOST
25:05
I don't know that it's not, but Not looking great for those guys.
Jeff RisdonHOST
25:12
Dan Jackson very quickly fell to the bottom of the safety depth chart.
Jeff RisdonHOST
25:18
And the only reason that he kept getting propped up was because the guys behind him kept getting hurt.
Matthew SoltysiakHOST
47:57
Dominic Lovett from last year.
Matthew SoltysiakHOST

Wave were Nick Whiteside, Amaris Brown, Ryan Cooper, Ekpo Boyedo, Eric Scott Jr., Jason Taylor II, and Dan Jackson.
Lomas BrownPANELIST
38:55
Okay, the most disappointing thing to me is to see Enos Rakestar Jr. as a reserve.
Lomas BrownPANELIST
39:04
The job was his to take, A.B., and to see him as a reserve, that's very disappointing.
Anthony BellinoHOST
24:27
So a lot of familiar names in that group.
Anthony BellinoHOST
24:30
They waived Nick Whiteside, Amaris Brown, Ryan Cooper, Eric Scott, Jason Taylor, Dan Jackson.
Anthony BellinoHOST
24:40
So that's, you know, the Dan Jackson one.
Anthony BellinoHOST
24:42
He was he was a pickup last year's draft 2025 out of Georgia.
Anthony BellinoHOST
24:46
So he's gone.
Anthony BellinoHOST
25:12
Yep, seventh rounder.
Anthony BellinoHOST
25:13
Lovett was picked 244.
Anthony BellinoHOST
25:15
Dan Jackson was 230.
Bryan DriskellHOST
42:06
I mean, look, the best safety on the field when these two teams played two years ago was not K.J. Bolden.
Bryan DriskellHOST
42:10
It was not Dan Jackson.
Bryan DriskellHOST
42:12
It was not Xavier Watts.
