Dan Hawkins is a 25-year insurance agent, and he and I have known each other for a very long time and have the same philosophy as an insurance agent, which is we help small businesses, we help individuals, uh, we help families, we help those who are going on to Medicare or currently on Medicare find affordable coverage.

Dan was the first person to endorse my candidacy for insurance commissioner, and I said, "Dan, you should run for this." And he goes, "You know what? Uh, we definitely need somebody.

I think I will.

We're going to go to bat for them.

Daniel Hawkins, the Republican speaker of the Kansas House running for insurance commissioner, promised voters at a recent fundraiser in Wichita.
