So the people that arrest Peter Parker for maybe having killed Mysterio are the Department of Damage Control.

And I hate that.

And I'll tell you why.

In the 90s, Damage Control was a series of minis, miniseries, from, I think, legendary writer Dwayne McDuffie.

About a construction firm that was specifically created by Tony Stark and Wilson Fisk to clean up after superhero fights.

You get another actor to play Mr. Sinister, or an actress to be Mrs. Sinister [laughs] for when Sinister has taken on his female persona, right? He can be any age, he can be anyone out there.

Now, I did actually think that Bill Metzger, who was the head of the Department of Damage Control in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, I thought the plot twist was gonna be that he was Mr. Sinister, right? Because he was obsessed with finding Jean, he wanted to know what made her mutant powers work, all the elements were there for it.

I'm, I'm sad he did not turn out to be Mr. Sinister.

I think that was a missed opportunity.

Like, and we're gonna talk about that a little bit more when we get to the near end.

But, uh, things start picking up when Peter stops, um, the Punisher, Frank Castle, from causing collateral damage in pursuit of a tank that was crashing into the Department of Damage Control prison.

Uh, the pri- the driver is possessed by a telepath who body hops from person to person, helping Scorpion escape, but unable to hi- enter Peter's mind.

So Peter goes to Yelena, and informs Peter that multiple Damage Control facilities have been attacked by someone searching for V-Max, and the director of Damage Control, uh, Bill Metzger, now using the Hand for security, denies knowledge of V-Max to Parker.

Now let me stop right there.

First of all, I kinda didn't expect Yelena to be in this one.

So the tank is being driven by...

When Spider-Man helps stop it from getting through the department of the DODC, which I'll call them for short.

Two notes.

Yes.

This would have been the perfect time to do that.

But instead, we've got to help build another series of movies instead of just telling a Spider-Man movie.

Apparently, someone's after Bill Metzger, who's the head of the DODC.

He's going to start the Sentinels.

Because they never mentioned Dean Gray as a mutant.

And you have... damage control which by all means they switched up what damage control was supposed to be because from what you told me what it was and what it is and the thing they just took the name they just took the name and they made their own little shit but i think also damage control might be what the mutants fight because don't they need something like the x-men don't they fight some branch of government that make the sentinels and and you know that's

a that's a offshoot shadow portion that's not like an official that's not like an official fucking oh it's the department of mutant defense

no but you know i'm saying like they're gonna have somebody that they need to go after

You know, because even in the first Spider-Man, damage control was there, and they took over all the spots because they wanted to collect the alien technology.

Yeah.

And, I mean, say what you want about Jean Grey's now new hero journey, but if damage control lets slip that a mutant did what happened in New York, that's going to start building hatred for mutants.

She's the new Black Widow in this.

We do have Trammell Tillman as Bill Metzger, who's the head of the Department of Damage Control.

We also have Mark Ruffalo returning as Bruce Banner and the Hulk.

In this case, he is no longer the merged Hulk.

I think bringing back Joe Bernthal was pretty awesome.

Obviously bringing back Florence Pugh was great.

uh right off the bat what do you do you guys have any any concerns about any of the people that they have in this in this movie already like you know did you have a problem with the police detective that he has a combination with do you have a problem with damage control kind of being like the main villain or at least the main antagonist that we find out later on um i'll open it up to both of you right now go ahead tim

Uh, in terms of the actors, I don't think I really have a problem.

Y'all talking about the shows, not the movies.

Now, you might need to watch the shows to know who Damage Control is because they were introduced in the show, weren't they? They were

introducing the very first Spider-Man.

Really? Yeah.

It felt very superhero, very comic book-y, like they nailed it, like what they were trying to do.

So, Nay, you weren't

here for the trailer reaction, but how did you feel about seeing Punisher and his action scene going through the city before we got to Damage Control? Was it a good scene?

So, I mean, the action sequence, like from him swinging on the buildings to like the tank and Punisher and all of that, it was cool.

They're mentioned in the beginning as a group that Spider-Man took down as one of his accolades of being Spider-Man.

But then you find out that Damage Control took them on as private security.

Oh,

Damage Control in this movie is playing the role of Walton Goggins' character in Invincible.
