Dale DeGray

I'm sure you could go back and listen to those episodes and how lopsided it is.

And just the, the end of the season and the departure of Dale DeGray and the coaching staff.

Everything, you know, if you asked everyone at the end of March what the Owen Sound Attack were gonna look like this year, it was a pretty grim outlook from all accounts.

Ownership change over so- over the summer, brand new hockey ops, uh, department, new coaching staff, and some trades, and, and suddenly it's like, you know what? Things aren't that bad [chuckles] at Owen Sound.

Uh, you know, because the people really weren't looking at Barrie last year, and people thought Niagara had a pretty strong roster.

Didn't go that way for them, and another summer of cleaning house.

Uh, but now, you know, you guys bring in Dale DeGray, and, you know, i- it's one of those, again, it's, it's such a tough sell for fans.

You've been through how many different starts of rebuilds and, you know, I, I think obviously with Dale DeGray there now, the days of making, uh, you know, six trades a month are, are long gone, I think.

And I wanted to wrap with this one here, too, because this was something you were involved in 39 years ago today, or maybe it was tonight, depending on the time of day.

You, with the Toronto Maple Leafs scored, acquired, I would say, journeyman defenseman Dale DeGray.

Yeah.

I think Dale would even agree to that.

And again, with all due respect, I would have loved to have been a journeyman.

But you picked up Dale DeGray from the Flames for a first-round pick in 1988 that turned out to be Scott Batusevich.

Okay, so Dale had a little bit more of a kick at the can than Scott did.

Well, what a great junior hockey operator he's been.
