Yeah, absolutely.

So that organisation is called Bonkira and it is a cooperative that represents the dairy farmers in New Zealand.

And then alongside that, we have a lot of very strong industry bodies such as Federated Farmers, Dairy and Lamb, Dairy New Zealand and PNs, which represents New The chicken farming.

And I cannot express the levels of power that they have.

They have visible power in that they are influencing policy.

Steve, why? Listen, in the last 30 years, well since 1990, we had a six-fold increase in the use of synthetic nitrogen fertilizer that only doubled the dairy herd.

But we're seeing the consequences of that.

Dairy is unfortunately the most polluting industry in New Zealand in terms of water pollution, soil compaction, climate emissions, marine coastal pollution.

It doesn't have to be that way.

There are dairy farmers now, including in this part of the country, who are farming without synthetic nitrogen fertilizer, who are producing high-quality, high-value dairy product that the export world wants.
