Daidō Moriyama

He's pretty old now.

Daido Moriyama.

I don't know if you guys know, but he's a Japanese photographer, quite iconic.

And, you know, one of his books, he just early on in his career, he just went to a photocopier and printed the whole thing through a photocopier.

There is a major tradition of Japanese photographers roaming the city, and we have already entered part of that history in this series.

In episode two, we encountered Daido Moriyama and the restless, grainy black and white associated with much of his work.

William Klein, who we later met inside a New York crowd, was one of Moriyama's important influences.
