Dahomey

but also through imagining its own voice.

So I have tried this before, but I was given more permission, I guess, from viewing the film Dahomey, a kind of pseudo-documentary from 24 that tells the story of the return of 24 for, I think, two dozen objects to Benin from the Quai Branly in Paris.

And it is, on one level, a documentary of the physical return of those objects and placement in the museum.

But it's also an imagining of the voice of one particular regal object in the collection which returns to Benin.

Mm

... about Dahomey.

It's like, wow.

Uh-

It keeps going.

And I think that's also interesting for the Holi because perhaps, I'm not defending Holi, European and French people.

I'm not.

But perhaps the French can offer some kind of expertise to preserve the object and not make it like such an abrupt thing that it wasn't there, now it's there.
