where I belonged to, the land, the people, and how us and Palestine are actually one land, and we were separated by colonialism, and how I started asking questions, and I started learning that most of the villages in South Lebanon had open borders with Palestine, and most of the southern Lebanese men would take the train and go work in Jaffa and in Haifa, and then come back home the same day because it was like a 30-minute train journey, you know? And I started reading more, and I got, you know, when you become a college student, you have access to libraries more, you can ask questions more, you get more, like, an open eye as to what's happening around you.

And I got really, really involved in 2008 when attacks against Gaza intensified, and I started seeing... on live television, how people were being bombed in their houses, how they were being killed, because 2006, it was majorly about South Lebanon and Dahyeh.

It's the Beirut suburbs, and the Beirut suburbs were evacuated from people, and we live in the Beirut suburbs, so we left it to our grandparents' house in the capital, Beirut, which is like three kilometers away, if you believe or not, but it was like there was this line that separated the suburbs from the capital, and only the suburbs were being hit this time, not like this war.

So it made me think a lot about what the people in Gaza had and did not have in comparison of what I had.

But Zionist Israel knew exactly what they were doing.

They wanted to create that chaos.

And oh my God, it's the only thing that I don't like to remember because that day is a horrible, horrible day when you just look at one of the longest stretches of streets in Dahyeh.

And it's just full of blood because people were just dropping on the streets.
