Years and years ago, the river god wedded a beautiful water nymph.

Their son, Narcissus, was such a lovely boy to look upon that all who saw him loved him.

But the boy did not return their love, for he was full of vanity and thought only of himself.

Now, as he grew to manhood, Narcissus became more and more beautiful, and each woodland fairy or water nymph would gladly have become his bride.

At last, a gentle nymph named Echo fell in love with him, and since he would not look at her or give heed to her soft words, she pined away until nothing but her voice remained.

Even to this day, her plaintive cry may be heard among the hills, answering back again the voices of those who laugh and sing.

But now the nymphs were angry with the loveless youth and prayed the gods to punish him for his heartlessness.

So one day when he was wandering in the fields, they caused him to see his own features reflected in the clear waters of a crystal pool.

Then you pop in your daffodils that's going to be flowering from kind of mid-March up to maybe mid-April.

Then you're... tulips are just about the flowers you pop in your your grow pot into into your trade air and now you have a succession of of flowers over over the course of over the course of several months so that's that's a way of planting them is staging them so tulips yeah they're brilliant and obviously the next one on the list is Narcissi, you know, which is your your miniature Narcissi, your daffodils.

And in that you have lots of different ones.

So there's again, there's about 30,000 heading for 40,000 named varieties, actual named varieties.

And there he sat, day by day, till he grew pale and thin, and at last, like poor Echo, he pined away and died.

Then on the border of the lake, where his dead body lay, there sprang up clusters of golden blossoms.

Daffodils we call them, but the gods called them Narcissus, in memory of the loveless youth.

They're very resilient and capable little creatures.

And so for Narcissus, I don't think the impact was necessarily so bad.

And I think for a lot of these species, when we look at them deeper, it might be sort of an early season cost.

So it might be a little bit slower, but not necessarily in terms of total output.

And so you want to plant those back where it's fenced in.

They don't like Daffodils, you can plant those, or narcissus.

They're okay.

They're poisonous, so they're not going to eat those.
