Ormund is making his way from Oldtown, fighting from south to north with, uh, Daeron leading his army, and they're just smashing through stuff until they get to Tumbleton.

But by the time they get there, it's occupied by Black loyalists.

Once Armand and Daeron are dead, I will sniff out Aegon's false heart and kill him myself.

Like, what? Why? Why has this happened? Like, it was a good scene, but at the same time, it's just so unearned.

Because they cut the Honeywine, because they cut Bitterbridge, Daeron has not done the things that earned him the moniker Daeron the Daeron.

To become a knight at this point with that moniker, with that title, Daeron the Daeron, is completely unearned.

I think this season, Ryan Condal kind of wanted to, I don't know, I can't speak for him, but to me, as a viewer, it seemed as though he wanted to show Viserys' kids at their weakest, at their weakest, all of them.

Because that's how we see all four of them, right? Exclude Daeron.

Yeah.

You know, we see Helena at her most depressed.

So yeah, it's a lot of, lot of telephone game being played.

I wanna talk about Daeron the Daring because that's something, you know, that I just took it as face value when I'm reading the book the second time, and then, you know, I go back and I...

I, I, I was looking at the book's description of his exploits where it's like, uh, you know, w- well, he's called Daeron the Daring, and he's given credit for winning this battle.

But when they actually talk about what he's doing, it's like, uh, they said, "Flying to Seryn ahead of the main column, Prince Daeron proved invaluable as a scout, warning Lord Ormund of his enemy movements.

Oft as not, the queen's men would melt away at the first glimpse of the blue queen's wings." Almost like Daeron is not that impressive.

He is a s- young boy on a small dragon, and he's essentially, uh, a reconnaissance drone.

And because-

And Ulf and Hugh were part of that defensive strategy.

And then so when they turned, they turned on Rhaenyra's army that was inside the town, and kind of sacked the town at the same time, and then were able to basically turn the town over to Ormund when he showed up, uh, with Daeron and Daeron's dragon as well.

Whereas in the show, they had Ormund get to Tumbleton first, and use that as his defensive position.

And they arranged things in a way that, I don't care too much about, like, military logistics in terms of all the numbers adding up, but it did, like, raise an eyebrow when we started being told that actually, no, Daemon's army from the Riverlands is way bigger than Ormund's army.

Um, if you look at some of the behind-the-scenes stuff, they really tried to keep the, like, camera work very tight, that it follows Rhaenyra.

So even as we're experiencing the scenes from the so-called objective vantage point of the camera, um, it's still kind of all framed as how Rhaenyra would, uh, see it.

Um, culminates with, like, this great last scene with the fake Daeron.
