Dacia Sandrider

hijacking cars and it just became a difficult rally to run it's a shame because it was uh the spectacle of seeing those cars in that location was incredible now it's relocated it went to the atacama desert for a while actually but now it's in saudi arabia because money i guess but it's still a huge event many many thousands of kilometers couple of weeks of competition and these really wild off-road machines that are have to navigate some incredible scenery from like open fast desert to really rocky sections fraught with danger i think it feels like you're really you and your co-driver are on your own out there just trying to conquer this incredible place anyway aston martin do not have a car you would think suitable for the dakar rally they do have an suv um but the dbx is not really built for the dakar however it looks like they have teamed up with prodrive who used to run Subaru's rally program, run lots of race and rally programs over the year, including Aston Martin's racing for a number of years in endurance racing.

And they will be using a sort of modified version of the Dacia Sandrider.

That's your big French manufacturer part of Renault have effectively pulled out of the Dakar version.

And so Aston Martin are going to take over that project.

He was a cycling champion.

He's been part of the British Touring Car Championship, or BTCC, and he's now part of the Dacia Sandriders?

Uh, what it is, is in fact the car previously known as the Dacia Sandrider.

Now, this is Prodrive who build and develop prototype chassis for Dakar.

They built the, um, Prodrive Hunter before that-
