language, literature, art, food, collective memory, they're all part of how people maintain the continuity while being attacked.

When Palestinians, when we preserve a song or a recipe, or even the Tatriz and the Dabke, and we archive the name of that village, we are not simply preserving something beautiful.

We are saying, this is ours.

This has history and we are still here to tell it.

even understanding like all these layers and still using that grief to also understand that it is important for us to feel joy, to continue.

At first, I was against the idea.

How do we get joy? What does it mean? But then you do get joy when you know that you have another Palestinian or another human in solidarity with you, sharing your food and your music and you're holding hands and you're dancing the Dabke and you say, no, we are here.

No, we exist and no, we continue.

I really enjoyed that format that Spotify had, but it's not

Dabkey is a friend of the show, a regular listener, and he went out of his way to listen to our previous show, listen to all the episodes of that, as far as I know.

So before Live From Manchester Mall, Ken and I did a show called Killer Tunes, which was, I mean, I think the driving idea behind the show back then and now has been kind of like a radio show for horror fans, right? Now it's kind of more talk radio.
