Dabda

A lot of beautiful ideas, a lot of scenic landscapes, but I want to pick one of the singles to narrow down the sound for you in like a little sample form.

So here's the single Choo Choo by Dabda.

I love how so much of this song and other parts about this record too reminds me honestly of a good chunk of like Japanese pop and art punk that gets made.

I think a lot of it has to do with how it's produced and some of the guitar slide sound and stuff, even though they also have these like heavier bits of guitar in the song too.

I was... excited that you brought it in and excited to learn about this band

I feel like I always know too that I'm really excited for a record to come out that I'm anticipating when a band has released singles and they're marked as singles but they aren't doing it like on band camp when they're releasing the singles as individual pages and and not songs on an album page that just updates when a song becomes available, because then I just leave a tab open of an artist's general page, and I type in the date of when the album comes out.

Or I have several that I don't know when their album is coming, so every week I just refresh this tab of like, is it here yet? And so I was glad that it was finally Dabda's turn to have a record come out.

Oh my god, I gotta tell you, here's a record that I was excited to have come out for a long time.
