CZW Tournament of Death

Hello and welcome to a very sad episode of Turned Out A Punk, as we have to say goodbye to one of the greatest human beings I've been lucky enough to meet, Jeff Guerriero, uh, AKA Jeff Cannonball, uh, f- wrestler, member of like half a dozen incredible bands going back to when he was a teenager.

Jeff was someone that I first got to meet while making the first Vice wrestling documentary I did, uh, the one about the Tournament of Death.

And I saw him come out to Plastic Bomb by Poison Idea, and I knew I had to be friends with this guy.

And in getting to know him, only then did I realize that he was m- so much more than just a guy who did these crazy matches in the ring or played in all these awesome bands.

Um, rest in peace, Jeff Cannonball.

[rock music] Jeff, thank you so much for coming on the show.

As I was just telling you off air, you are by far one of the ones I've been most excited to have on this thing, because, uh, I think, you know, like being down there shooting the Tournament of Death documentary, there's like this whole part that unfortunately didn't make the film, but we went to a show the night before.

And like we were filming me, and I'm just like standing there kinda like...

Like, for example, I was hoping to watch the latest CZW show, or at least some of it, after work today, but then work ended up being two hours longer than planned.

Was it, it's not Tournament of Death, right? That, that was, that was last month.

No, it's, it's another show that they just did.

Hmm.

and in it it also coincides with you know outside of that tournament of death or tournament of survival and the cage of survival time period gcw seems to be really sort of backing up on the ultra violence quite a bit and and you know they want to be the number one indie promotion on planet earth that's what you know brett and all of them want and whatever you know If you can do it, do it, I guess, to each their own.

But I love with Danny, he's like, we just want to be the number one deathmatch company on planet Earth.

And I think, honestly, they've already done it.

That's going to be really good.

So Nat Castle is the one that wrestled recently in the Tournament of Death.

Yes, yes.

And then, of course, the Zone of 23 offer match from the Tournament of Death.

Slack and Arrow both.

Yeah.

I talk to that guy a lot on chat.

He watches the weirdest, most fucking out there shit you've ever seen.

And we were talking about what the deathmatch standard is and how Tournament of Death was much better this year than previous years.

And he was basically like, if there's any problem with the change, it's too good.

All the other ones is I will win the Tournament of Survival.

I will win the Tournament of Death.

I will wrestle in Japan.

I will wrestle in Mexico.

Next weekend, I'm going to, I would say, I'm going to Liverpool, the city on the water, to soak up some art.

I'm going to Tournament of Death.

Among other things, they're advertising a casket match for that tournament.

That's how long ago this was.

And we had a good time.

And they put a graphic up on the screen that said tournament of death happening outside, you know, with CZW.

We're doing a partner weekend.

Emerson Jane is doing double duty.

She's also in Tournament of Death.

I would not be surprised if she wins to both of them.
