P
42:02Pete KennaughHOST
One time he said, in theory, there are 50 entrants, but I might stretch it a bit because the great thing is I can do what I want.

through that weekend and yeah i had my one of my lowest days on i think it was a sunday i couldn't i couldn't almost couldn't see through the darkness of it it was really hard to uh explain but if you've ever had it before i mean my heart goes out to you massively it really does and if you're going through it now there is light at the end of the tunnel just get help from drugs and getting outside because i'm sure walking through this it gave me purpose just somewhere to get to you know it was a very sort of tenuous purpose if you like but it was purpose all the same well i'm gonna get from I'm just gonna I'm just gonna walk because I'm putting one foot in front of the other that means I'm moving forward both figuratively figuratively and physically so yeah it's just that moving forward I think if I was to have sat on the sofa for two weeks then I probably wouldn't be a where I am now but yeah walking walking walking there's so much to be said for walking the absolute simplicity of it um so I decided after that um yeah I had a really bad day and I thought fucking hell you know I've got another how long much more of this shit do I have to endure but um I woke up on the Monday feeling awful and then sort of went downstairs didn't have a cup of coffee because i haven't drunk coffee for about three weeks because uh because of the anxiety thing and i thought right i'm gonna have a go at working today because i'm worked basically i'm a freelance cycling journalist and i work for cycling weekly as well so yeah i didn't want to add too much uh doom and gloom to to the sport you know Everything was just black.
S
27:08SteveHOST
Yes, it was the World Championships last week and it was black, black, black.
S
27:14SteveHOST
That's the way it felt anyway.

If I wasn't feeling good, I wouldn't be able to record this podcast.
S
38:00SteveHOST
But yeah, I'm feeling, oh shit.
S
38:08SteveHOST
yeah so um yeah that has helped me uh tremendously just walking and like i said earlier yeah if you're going through anything like this at the moment i mean i've been through various bits and pieces before i've been through sort of dalliances with anxiety but i think the whole world has done that um you know i've been through grief and the best way the best way to sort of not overcome it but to sort of get through it is just by putting one foot in front of the other and like i say just keep moving forward and uh yeah you'll get there but yeah got a lot on this week i've got some videos i'm going to record for cycling weekly starting to because i fall off my bike a lot um Somebody suggested that I get a pair of rollers this winter to practice my balance.
S
39:09SteveHOST
So yeah, myself and Dan are making a video about that this week.

L

Um, I think it's fantastic that we're in a, in a world now where we can watch so many races that when I was getting into cycling, you would get a paragraph or two just listing the result in Cycling Week.
D

Yeah.
L
