CodyHOST
42:28
And I was like, that's fucking wild, dude.
CodyHOST
42:31
Cause I remember the old character sheets for cyberpunk 2020 and that shit was wild too.
CodyHOST
42:37
Cause like you had boxes that were split.
CodyHOST
42:41
So when you have like a certain attribute, it combined with another one for a different one.
AriaHOST
16:12
No, no, I wouldn't.
AriaHOST
16:14
Like, even Cyberpunk, I've been reading up on Cyberpunk Red, right? Right.
AriaHOST
16:19
And like...
AriaHOST
16:21
It has this idea of cyberpsychosis.
Brendan DavisHOST
73:20
Now, what was your main game? If it wasn't D&D, which doesn't seem like that fit your style, did you have a main game that you tended to go to, or were you more going from one game to the next as a
James DesboroughGUEST
73:33
GM player? um much like designing i tend to go from one to another there are some mainstays uh dragon warriors i've played a lot on and off um it's just one of those early games um and linked to some formative experiences i suppose I played Cyberpunk a lot, from the black box Cyberpunk 2013, which seems kind of quaint, through Cyberpunk 2020, which I think is still the best edition that there was of that.
James DesboroughGUEST
74:06
Nobody played third edition Cyberpunk.
James DesboroughGUEST
74:10
The new one I am kind of on the fence about.
Brendan DavisHOST

The new one I am kind of on the fence about.
James DesboroughGUEST
74:13
I don't like some of the oversimplifications and the way some of the newer rules work, or don't as the case may be, but it's easier to get people to play that.
James DesboroughGUEST
74:24
But Cyberpunk's been a constant.
James DesboroughGUEST
74:26
Vampire was a huge one.
James DesboroughGUEST
74:30
I picked up Vampire the day it came out in the UK, played it that evening, and then continued to play a whole bunch of White Wolf games for years and years and years, got involved in the LARP society.
Ross WatsonHOST
24:44
They invested in it.
Ross WatsonHOST
24:45
R. Talsorian is, of course, the guys who do Cyberpunk and Teenagers from Outer Space.
Ross WatsonHOST
24:51
It's Mike Pondsmith's company.
Ross WatsonHOST
24:52
Mike Pondsmith, of course, is one of the most cr- most successful in indie, uh, RPG creators of all time, 'cause Cyberpunk 2077 is, of course, huge.
Ross WatsonHOST
25:02
Huge.
Ross WatsonHOST
25:04
So when it was under R. Talsorian, uh, they actually took the Interlock system, which is the home system for all of the R. Talsorian RPGs, and they mashed it together with the Hero System, and created something called Fusion.

Ross WatsonHOST

The Ra- The Rasslin' Theater.
Ross WatsonHOST
116:31
[laughs] That's another great name.
JasonHOST
2:58
I don't have a preferred science fiction role-playing game, I don't think.
JasonHOST
3:03
I've played a bunch of them, from Star Frontiers to Traveler to... from ICRPG to Cyberpunk 2020 to, you know, I've played a number of these games and had a lot of fun with all of them.
JasonHOST
3:20
So with science fiction gaming, kind of like horror gaming, it depends what brand of science fiction we're tackling to what game I would pick.
JasonHOST
3:29
For a cyberpunk game, 100%, I'm going to take Cyberpunk 2020.
JasonHOST
3:33
That is my favorite cyberpunk game, without doubt.
JasonHOST
3:38
For a science fantasy kind of game...
NestorHOST
21:25
Yep.
NestorHOST
21:25
So, my first RPG, Cyberpunk.
NestorHOST
21:31
And for those who don't know, the first edition was Cyberpunk 2020, so that would be playing in the past.
MizzyHOST
21:40
Reggie McKay, that's baby nerds.
NestorHOST
21:42
Yes.
NestorHOST
21:46
1993 was introduced to a whole bunch.
NestorHOST
21:50
My friend Juan, he had a whole bunch of RPG books.
NestorHOST
21:53
The first one that caught my eye was the Cyberpunk 2020 role-playing game.
DKDiamantesHOST
15:02
[laughs]
KiriothHOST
15:03
For context for this, the majority of the lore covered here is from Cyberpunk 2020's core book, a few supplements, and some details from Cyberpunk 2013, since Possum didn't, like, hasn't had or opened the copy of that in a decade, and, uh, they really-
DKDiamantesHOST
15:20
Oh
KiriothHOST
15:20
... wanted to read it again.
SteveHOST
26:09
Um, but like sometimes, you know, like, look, artwork is cool and it can sell books and, but there are those, there are those games that just, it somehow, it adds more than just being pretty pictures.
SteveHOST
26:23
And like one of the books, you know, like to me, it's kind of like one of those grail books, if you will, of like the standard of how you could, Cyberpunk 2020, man, that book, the art, the layout, the text, it's, It all just oozes this attitude, and it sounds like you're getting a lot of that, you know, collaborating with Daniel for the artwork, because this just feels very right.
PeterGUEST
26:49
I'm trying.
PeterGUEST
26:50
I'm not revolutionizing layout, I will say.
