Cut and Run

Berryman will continue...

Working with with And it is actually, Berryman is sort of my cue to point out something that is around this time, according to at least documents in my possession, that Craven starts sort of concocting a story which should have been cut and run, which will then later be three years later, I believe, be directed by Ruggero Del Dato.

That film obviously famously stars, among others, it has quite a rich cast of character actors, among whom also Michael Berryman.

Here he is again.

But it's around 1981 that sort of that project for Craven starts sort of taking shape.

although then it will get completely rewritten.

Beyond the English title, Cut and Run, and some very broad themes and narrative elements, for the most part it will be completely changed by Dardano Sacchetti, Ruggero Deodato, Luciano Vincenzoni mainly, who was the first writer.

But yeah, just to even further point out how unlucky Raven was around this time, that is one, not the only one, but the biggest one among the projects that did not get made.

It, it, it is kind of his, uh, closest thing he has to a masterpiece, and he did, uh, before this he did, uh, House at the End of the Park, you know, which was basically his take on a, on a Last House on the Left style home invasion movie.

And he also did, uh, Cut and Run, which was this really crazy action, uh, exploitation movie that he made back in the day.

So, uh, I mean, it wasn't his first foray into this type of filmmaking, but I don't know.

There's just, it just feels like there's something about this movie that he just really, uh, honed in on and he really tried to, uh, to make his statement.

And then she turned that Oscar heat into trash.

She appears in the weird adventure movie What Waits Below, the Albert Pugh and post-nuke noir Radioactive Dreams, and Ruggiero Deodato's incomprehensible cocaine cannibal freakout Cut and Run, a movie I love way more than I should.

That's because it's real fun.

Does it make any sense? No, but it does have Willie Ames in it.

[laughs] Anyway, I also watched the, uh, Cut and Run by the same director, uh, Rug- Ruggero Deodato.

Yeah.

And, uh-

It is, it is less going for it, I think.
