This time, I sat down with Casey Watts on her podcast, Clear is the New Confident, and ended up telling a story that I really don't talk about much, but she reminded me of a social media post that I posted months ago where I shared how I stopped straightening my hair before every observation, every interview, every time that I felt like I needed to look polished, so to speak.

And at that time, nobody told me that curly hair was leadership.

I had to unlearn that myself.

And honestly, it took a child to tell me that I didn't have to operate in that way.

I knew someone was coming to my class to observe me.

Anytime that I was in a professional setting or I had to exhibit professionalism outwardly, I would straighten my hair.

Because I felt that curly hair was not professional.

And I became a principal.

I thought I just had frizzy, untameable hair.

curly yeah so my brother has really curly hair and actually i think most of my sisters have curly hair but we none of us knew it and then we have a lot of like irish girls so In the front, my hair is super curly.

I do think it's going to all be curly when it's healthier.
