Cumberland Council

So hi, I'm Emma Williamson.

I'm the deputy leader for Cumberland Council and have the portfolio for children, family wellbeing, and housing.

So you and I have known each other because you've done an Asamara, and that Asamara's done incredibly well.

And then quite perchance, 'cause I have a couple of podcasts, Gobsmacked, which has been going four years, and then Asamara, which is a couple of years.

And I do have to say unanimously across the floor, uh, it was a, a ...

You know, we all voted for that, which was amazing.

But actually a- when I joined Cumberland Council, I made, um, children's services transformation my number one priority.

And we had some amazing people on that journey who all felt the same, that our children deserved to be protected, loved, and have the same opportunities that everybody does.
