We don't refer to it as a trade war.

The American ambassador spoke to CTV News in Gander, Newfoundland, where he's visiting to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

It's time to take the tenor down.

There have been things that have been said by Canadian politicians that at least I've heard they- they regret.

Canada's governor general will be on hand, as well as the US ambassador to Canada.

But it will mainly be focused on the people of this community, who opened their homes and opened their hearts, offering that support to complete strangers, who turned into friends and then family during a time of unspeakable horror.

The other example I would say of Americans talking to Canadians, of course, is our favorite US ambassador, Pete Hoekstra, um, who, you know, even today as, as we were recording, uh, is, was questioned on, on, on, uh, actually I'm gonna find out exactly who was interviewing him.

Jeremy, so, uh, do we have anything here other than, uh, perhaps this idea that there is talk going on behind the scenes, maybe just cordial, but nothing as far as the trade negotiations themselves?

Yeah, exactly, Aaron.

Not one media.

No one in Canada covering this.

So the majority of people who don't have the time to go hunting around, or really aren't interested, are not getting the truth.

And the mainstream media is absent.

CBC is not here.

CTV is not here.

Global isn't here.

The seatbacks may not lock into position and could move in a crash.

CTV News says owners will get a letter in the mail from Toyota.

And they're doing it again.

A congressman now wants to rename Lake Erie, Lake Pennsylvania.

CTV News says David Maloney is working on a resolution for the Interior Department.

This after U.S. President Trump issued an executive order to rename Lake Ontario.

Canadian officials aren't recognizing that name change.

He says the $70 ticket was eventually reduced to $25.

And after CTV News took on his story, he says his ticket was canceled.

So while Khan won't have to pay, he worries that until the lines are properly painted, another driver could end up in the same situation.

And he says other patients may not have the time or ability to challenge a ticket like he did.

Ten people live at the Van Horn encampment in the Plateau, and lawyers won an injunction in June that stops the city from clearing it.

Robin Delacorte with CTV News reports that the reasoning was that the injunction cannot be overturned without a trial.

The court also didn't agree that the alternative location proposed by the city's residents was appropriate.

Next, a Canadian has died in the Donetsk region of Ukraine.

That was a terribly sad day.

CTV Ottawa did a really great interview with a bunch of Ottawa firefighters who went down, kind of just said, we're getting in there and we're going down to help out and posted on their website to ctvottawa.ca. You can find out their memories of just their decision to kind of like, we're just going, we're going down there and we don't, we don't know what we're going to be able to do when we get down there, what we're going to find, but we're just going to go down.

And so many people.

Canadians helping neighbors.

It's a move away from regional command structures.

CTV News says there was a ceremony yesterday where the 1st Canadian Division was introduced as the new primary fighting force.

MapQuest, finding new popularity for its refusal to rename Lake Ontario, has unveiled a six-foot billboard in Chicago.

It reads, it's still Lake Ontario and we're still here.
