RayHOST
24:23
It's kind of cool how that starts.
RayHOST
24:25
The other thing I watched, before we get into the Halloween movies of the week, the other thing I watched, I watched a great documentary.
RayHOST
24:34
We were talking about Netflix releasing a ton of great documentaries this month.
RayHOST
24:37
On comedy.
RayHOST
24:58
They were on Roseanne together.
RayHOST
25:00
But he was a very funny guy, very funny actor, dry comedy.
RayHOST
25:06
And the funny thing about this documentary, you find out that Bob Saget was directing it.
RayHOST
25:11
Five years ago, Bob Saget was doing a sit-down interview with him to record an interview.
JeffHOST
5:38
I don't remember if we've even watched the fourth one together.
JeffHOST
5:41
I think we've watched Crystal Lake Memories a time or two.
JeffHOST
5:43
I think so, yeah.
JeffHOST
5:44
So you know it from that, by reputation.
JoshHOST
26:18
That's the best kill.
JoshHOST
26:19
I know [laughs] I, I, I watched Crystal Lake Memories again just to try and, and rehash my memory, and Betsy Palmer's like, "I'm kind of embarrassed that they let a man's hairy knuckles stand in for her." [laughs] She wanted to emphasize that that was not, those were not her hairy knuckles.
JesseHOST
26:37
Yeah, you definitely notice that.
JesseHOST
26:39
[laughs] And once you see it, you can't unsee it.
JoshHOST
26:42
I didn't notice it until I watched Crystal Lake Memories, and then I, th- then she pointed it out.
JoshHOST
26:46
I'm like, "Oh, obviously." I've also heard you can see the toothpicks that were holding the head on.
JoshHOST
26:51
Maybe it's because I, I don't have a, a Blu-ray of this and just have a DVD, but I couldn't see those toothpicks.

35 MINS LATER

JesseHOST
62:12
Make sure you guys go back and, uh, and talk, check that one out.
Willie GreerHOST
10:01
And there's definitely this overlap of sex and murder.
Willie GreerHOST
10:07
um that is just very very quintessentially 80s um we have a lot of rose-colored nostalgia for the 80s but if you were there it was kind of fucked up we were all repressed as hell and constantly being shamed for various urges that we had and I know that Peter Brackey, who wrote Crystal Lake Memories, has always kind of talked about how teenage gay men back in the 80s identified with the final girl archetype as being this outsider character who has to kind of confront this repressed evil force by themselves at the end.
Willie GreerHOST
10:45
So it sounds like that's very much where Jane is coming from with this film.
Willie GreerHOST
10:51
uh i i cannot wait to see it i had a lot yeah like i went out of town uh it was just not possible for me to do it and by the time that i got back i didn't even think to look if it was still playing in theaters i feel like kind of a jackass but you should
PeterHOST
52:21
Jesus.
FrankHOST
52:22
And it like really, it really, like, freaked Derek Mears out, and Derek Mears in, in Crystal Lake Memories is like, "You're way too committed to this, to this movie than you need to be."
PeterHOST
52:32
That's cool.
PeterHOST
52:33
That's awesome.

8 MINS LATER

PeterHOST
60:07
Yeah.
FrankHOST
60:07
Like, like Brackett?
PeterHOST
60:10
No, it's, um, na- it was named after Peter Brack, who wrote Crystal Lake Memories.
FrankHOST
60:14
Oh.
