Cryptosporidium

Um, some s- some snakes hide it better than others.

And so if we did what Clint has proposed on CCR and everybody started testing, I think that we would very quickly realize how prevalent Cryptosporidium is in our colubrid snakes, and then have to make a community-wide call on like, what the hell do we do? But as long as you are keeping babies separate from the room that had the crypto and you are doing the due diligence we just talked about, and you're being honest with people, I don't see why you can't move those animals now.

Um, and the other thing that's just kind of biology-

A good dose of Giardia on top of other problems would be the last thing anyone needed.

Cryptosporidium, aka Giardia or beaver fever, is a food and water-borne disease caused by a parasite found in the gut of infected humans and animals including cattle, sheep, cats, dogs, rats and possums.

But that's just one thing you might get from infected water.

Waterborne diseases already cause about 1.5 million human deaths every year.

But, you know, I think I've seen some work.

You might have done it where they've looked for parasites like Cryptosporidium and Giardia in communities.

And especially for me, I'm interested in these types of research projects where they look for it in communities where we know there's large agricultural produce sectors, California, Arizona, and Florida.

And they are finding other parasites like giaria and cryptosporium quite frequently in surface waters and waste waters.

Crypto, of course, doesn't, and Giardia.

But they're very similar.

And I'm always thinking about, you know, Cryptosporidium, when it emerged, you know, it emerged with a big bang with these outbreaks.

That's how these organisms get these attention of public health and then of the utilities and the regulators.

There's protozoas, which are things like Giardia, Defragilis, Crypto.

I had Cryptosporidium, which was shutting my organs down.

So I had roundworm flukes, pinworms, and crypto.

Those were my four major parasites that I had in my body.

They were relieved to hear about my Asia trip, as it meant there was no threat to the local population around me.

Let me introduce you to my newly acquired buggers named Cyclospora, Cryptosporidium, Blastocystis, Giardia, and Entamoeba histolica, a veritable rugby squadron of buggers assaulting my gut and carving away at my health.

By definition, a parasite enjoys a one-directional relationship with a host.

since a parasite lives off the host and there is no benefit to the host.

Sorry.

If it's something more infectious, like, you know, how a lot of gays now are getting Shigella infections and then this Campylobacter thing as well, as well as the Cryptosporidium thing from all the lettuce for the Taylor's Farms, allegedly.

So if it's an infectious source of diarrhea, you should wait until two weeks after your last episode to avoid passing it on.

Two weeks?! ! Yeah.

how I do that is before breeding and after breeding is I'm surveilling the animals that I'm putting together.

And then after they're separated, I'm looking for a Serpentavirus.

I don't think Cryptosporidium is going to crop up after I, after I get those animals into that Nido negative colony.

So yeah, So I am looking for Serpentovirus in specific in those.
