Hello listeners, it is great to have your company in the midst of Cup Week.

It is Oaks Day, but we're here to preview Champion Stakes Day.

It's mine and Salt's favourite day of the year, let's be honest.

And there's an all-star line-up at Flemington to round out the big week that has been so far.

It is the day that Salts and I ad nauseum say is our favourite day of the year.

And what can we expect from the weather and how's the track

going to be playing? They'll move the rail out nine metres after it's six metres on Oaks Day.

Obviously, there's going to be some marking as the day goes on.

Day three of the 2026 Melbourne Cup Carnival.

It's Crown Oaks Day.

And I have to say, Flemington has never looked better.

It's been a great week so far.

She should go from dance captain to dance brigadier general at the very least.

Before we get some news headlines, Fiona, do you have a winner in, well, what's the signature race today?

Well, today is Oaks Day, so race eight is the Crown Oaks, group one to over 2,500 metres, and I'm just going to stick with the favourite, Proxima D.

Looks like she's the quality horse in the race.

And the VRC Oaks has been run and won here.

Another great day, another brilliant day weather-wise.

Proxima D, the favourite winning the race, looks a special horse.

Well, VRC Oaks and this horse Proximate D from Sydney, Philly from Sydney, won the race and it looks as though this horse has got a huge future, Quinny.

Yes, spot on.

This just can't happen in a cost of living crisis.

And in sport, the VRC Oaks at Flemington will be run in the coming hours.

Proxima D is the red-hot favourite.

And in sport, Proxima Daya has won the VRC Oaks at Flemington, the three-year-old filly extending her unbeaten run to six.

Good on you, Jordan.

It's a celebration, and it's a wonderful thing for Australia.

And then Oaks Day has that fashion, and it's the only working day of the week.

We think we might have had a few people working from home here today.

And then we come into wrapping it up with the Champions Day, which has now become a very big racing day, but still a young person's day as well.

It was, as I said, it was a cup for the ages, a turning point in many ways, I think, and upwards and onwards.

And what about yesterday with the Crown Oaks? Jeez, that was a remarkable performance from Proxima Dea.

And David Payne, he told us, didn't he? Remember after the gloaming that he was going to win the Oaks and he was able to prove us all absolutely right.
