Criminal Investigation Department

In broad daylight, in the middle of a bustling residential estate with shophouses, bus stops, and afternoon foot traffic, two 12-year-olds vanished without a sound, without a commotion, and without a single witness raising an alarm.

When the boys failed to return home that evening, the Criminal Investigation Department launched an immediate operation.

Over the coming weeks, search perimeters widened exponentially.

Singapore Police combed hundreds of vacant buildings, drainage canals, dense forested fringes, and construction sites across the island.

According to the pathologist's report, each child had suffered at least 20 slash wounds.

Singapore's Criminal Investigation Department launched an immediate massive manhunt, but the crime scene presented inexplicable contradictions.

The door locks were fully intact.

Investigators concluded the children either willingly opened the door to someone they recognized or the perpetrator had access to a key.
