Crazy

Come on.

Well, so what, what happened is I go in the studio, um, and by studio I mean a guy's garage where he has a piano, and I record a couple of songs and I go, "Okay, I'm gonna put out this album." I put the album out, and then one of the songs was Crazy by Gnarls Barkley.

Yep.

And it was just me playing it on piano and singing, and I put it up on TikTok and it started trending.

But what I particularly like about it this week is it's part of one of my favorite things on this show, which is incredibly niche and minor chart battles.

Like, everyone remembers Blur versus Oasis, Crazy Frog versus Coldplay, Spice Girls versus Spice Girls.

Those last two, by the way, I've done YouTube videos about.

You can check them out there.

It's up to you whether you prefer churn at the top of the singles chart, whether you like sort of new songs getting up the top all the time, or whether you like longer stays at the top spot.

Certainly, if you like the latter, it's been a great year for you.

This is the third song to spend over a month on the top of the charts in 2006, Crazy by Gnarls Barkley and Hips Don't Lie by Shakira both managing it.

But will it be a fifth week for the Scissor Sisters next week, or will Razorlight knock them off their perch by Watching America? Will Bob Sinclair rock this party, or will songs by David Hasselhoff, My Chemical Romance, or P.

Elo

Green, Crazy by Nosh Barkley.

I just knew too much.

I guess what I'm saying is aside from Dave Matthews and Lauren Hill, Eric Clapton.

I know.

It's crazy.

Crazy.

Right.

I don't know.

Crazy.

How's that? Which you would never hear at a wedding, right? Like Gnarls Barkley? That one? Yeah.

You would never hear that at a wedding.

It's bittersweet to see the end of an era.

And don't forget their groundbreaking single Crazy.

That changed the music landscape.

For sure.

You've got to jump right in.

This is why Crazy by Gnarls Barkley is the best hip-hop song.

And also, every Nina Jirachi song, just come out and say, I want to fuck my computer, and then take

off.

The first year that I graduated from the college, they were only casting for a baddie, a villain in the panto.

And I went in and sang Crazy by Niles Barkley, but I sang it in an RP accent.

What's that? Crazy, does that make me crazy? Oh yeah.

But I sang does that make me cray cray and no one laughed and i committed to it the bit and i'm the least bad kind of bad person like it was such a redneck so that panel and get that panel experience then the next year there was a there was the washy washy character and i could just jump around and be a riot so yeah but yeah i can remember being so terrified of that But yeah, an amazing project.

Go and see the panto at Hamilton Town House or Rutherglen Town Hall.

Okay.

So the first song I chose was Crazy by Gnarls Barkley.

And this comes in the pilot.

So I really, I love that it came in the pilot and it sets the tone immediately.
