I'm Ken Fish, your host, and with me today, I have Joel Taylor and Dr. Craig Keener.

Those of you who follow the podcast, you know both Joel and Craig.

Craig's been with us in the past, not only on the podcast, but at our fall conferences.

That's what we wanna look at.

You know, there's someone-- there's a scholar called Craig Keener.

He did a research.

It's a two-- I have the material.

You probably won't really know what you're looking at, but you will see it there.

So Professor Craig Keener in his commentary on Matthew does reference this.

He also references in the Talmud Eruvian 53a.

In fact, given God's simplicity as undivided being itself and God's ability to explain a contingent world that doesn't have to exist, this raises the prior probability of God existing to a level that at least warrants serious investigation, not lighthearted dismissal.

I'm actually the student at Asbury, so I can say he's one of my professors.

I love Professor Keener.

Again, if you doubt me, I might have mentioned this to you before.

Uh, there's a great book by a guy named Craig Keener.

He's a, a Protestant biblical scholar, super smart fellow, and this is a two-volume...

It's a big, fat thing like this.

Really, and I got to actually understand the depth and the difficulty and the love and the passion that goes into the work that you do.

And one of the pinnacles of shift in my mind is when I discovered Dr. Craig Keener and then meeting him.

And just being like, you are created for this.

You're created for such a time as this.

He just writes that and says, you know, this is the way it is for us Arminians.

Well, you actually have a quote from Craig Keener from your dissertation, which you alluded to earlier, but I believe you found it.

And he's a famous New Testament scholar, right?

Oh, yes.

No, this is what I wrote, and then I led into this quote.

Okay.

So Craig Keener, who's Arminian, acknowledges that idea that Calvinists and Arminians deny that a professing Christian is necessarily saved forever.

And this is what he says.

And so what we've got here, it's very interesting.

Craig Keener, who's an Arminian, I've got a quote in this chapter where he says something along these lines, that even though Calvinists and Arminians will disagree about different issues, they have one thing in common, and that is no one can be absolutely sure until they die.

R.C. Sproul one time was giving a presentation, and he said, if I end up in the lake of fire...

Just those words right there just blew my doors off.
