became a goth, that's where I got all my Marilyn Manson posters and Cradle of Filth.

She still managed to do some quietly incredible things.

She appears in character as Elizabeth Bathory on Cradle of Filth's Cruelty and the Beast.

And there was one final appearance for Hammer in the mini-series that resurrected them beyond the rave.

Her father had died back in 1953, some accounts saying that his health was broken by the war.

And also still looking forward to seeing a sphere show in Las Vegas next month.

one more in terms of crazy guitar technique and melodic stuff from the 90s cradle of filth uh apparently that was big from the get-go of the band when there were multiple members uh they really liked dusk and her embrace so i think if you just take dissection and cradle of filth early and you add the raw one-man sensibility of burzum and some of the uh some of the atmospheric and lyrical content, you basically get a pretty good portrait of where this guy was coming from, plus the secret ingredient.

And Death Metal Guy, what's the secret ingredient?

The secret ingredient to MercFit is that it is an incredibly early industrial or electronic black metal band that sounds nothing like anything else you would describe as that.

So it's all woven together quite nicely, but it's not like the main thing.

We get back to the main thing at Hymns Vi, track 7, and then really 8 with Into Endless.

And thus far, although we've talked about how skillfully this is composed and about the way that he... reworks all these themes oh yeah that's i guess the last thing i wanted to say like that the the the fucking um the merc vid theme chorus theme gets obviously gets reused on that on in dark times i i already said that right that's like the second major use of the chorus name okay so despite all of that like a lot of these songs are these songs for the most part are pretty condensed three to four minute punchy and many of them catchy verse chorus right but once you get to the last track into endless we get something that's structured a lot more like a track by one of the black metal bands that would have inspired him like something like dissection or early cradle of filth or early emperor or something uh where there's a simple there's like a pretty straight ahead three riff sequence that's the core of the song but the actual song is so much more than that and it really works as a a lengthy extreme metal epic so um And here you'll hear elements of both themes.

The one that sounds a little bit like Christ raping black metal and the one that sounds like the accordion chorus.

So he's been on three albums by Anathema.

He's part of the whole Cradle of Filth thing.

He's been on a few of their albums, maybe two or three, maybe two, I don't know.

I was with him a short time, as most people are if you're not Danny Filth.

I love you.

But Anethema and Cradle of Filth were friends.

There was a kinship there, and that went back a long way into the early days of both bands.

So that's kind of cool that we get his presence here.
