Another rare genetic syndrome is Cowden syndrome which is also an autosomal dominant mutation in the PTEN gene.

The PTEN gene is a tumour suppressor gene which is meant to stop uncontrolled cell division and therefore tumour growth.

It's important to remember that these syndromes are also associated with other cancers such as colorectal and gastric cancers.
