What was a courting stick? C-O-U-R-T-I-N-G, stick.

Was it A, an elaborate game of tag in which the single men of the village chase the single women trying to touch them with a birch branch? That's just called dating now.

That's just called dating.

These last few lines have been exemplified in many ways in many novels of this century.

Thus a boy separated from his parents and living in the house of his uncle should try to gain over the daughter of his uncle, or some other girl, even though she be previously betrothed to another.
