Last week, fans learned that Luke Combs earned nominations for three CMA Awards ahead of the 60th annual event.

He is vying for a win in the categories of Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Album of the Year for The Way I Am.

In award ceremonies that were held on September the 22nd in 1999, the 33rd Annual Country Music Association Awards took place at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.

Shania Twain took home the Entertainer of the Year trophy, while Tim McGraw won Male Vocalist of the Year and Martina McBride won Female Vocalist of the Year.

In 2002, Sting won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program at the 54th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

The award recognized his A&E Network Concert Special, Sting in Tuscany All This Time.

Jeez.

It means he wasn't nominated for Entertainer of the Year or Male Vocalist of the Year.

And since he's the biggest touring artist in all of country music, it's kind of ironic that he's largely been sidelined for country's biggest night.

It's so dumb.

He's last year's Best New Artist.

This year he's up for Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year.

He's got a brand new single out, Good Girls and Cowgirls.

And I made the mistake earlier today of listening to my favorite Zach Topp song, South of Insanity, and I can't get it out of my head.

Go ahead.

This is not always true, but rarely does the person who wins Male or Female Vocalist also win Entertainer of the Year.

Oh, that's interesting.

So a lot of times it ends up being, I hate to say second best.

They won eight years in a row for ACMs? Wow.

Okay.

Male Vocalist of the Year, Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, Zach Top, and Steven Wilson Jr.

Yeah, screw the whole idea that it's not about singing.

It's the first time the 36-year-old has been nominated in the category since 2013 when she featured on Tim McGraw's Highway Don't Care.

and as for the men combs johnson stapleton zach top and stephen wilson jr have all been nominated for male vocalist of the year while the band chemistry of lady a little big town midland old dominion and the red clay strays all earned themselves nominations for vocal group of the year So it's going to be an amazing night and an amazing day.
