Council of Elrond

He's not obviously that like, annoying about it.

But, you know, when he announces himself to the Hobbits for who he really is, he says it at the Council of Elrond.

He says it to Aomer whenever he first meets him, like, I'm Aragorn, son of Arathorn, heir to the throne of Gondor.

That's me.

He's very much like, that's my goal.

I'm going to become, I'm meant to be king and reforge these and become king.

And even at the Council of Elrond, when Boromir shows up, Boromir's like,

yeah, Gondor does all this and we defend the west,

All right, number four.

The Celtics will summon the Council of Elrond.

Elrond.

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

And every time you must...

The Celtics must summon the Council of Elrond of making any roster decisions.

Jalen, Gandalf, Legolas, and one talking badger.

We almost unanimously approve all trades.

But being in a tight place, he said nothing about it and made Gollum show him the way out, as a reward instead of a present.

This account Bilbo set down in his memoirs, and he seems never to have altered it himself, not even after the Council of Elrond.

Evidently, it still appeared in the original Red Book, as it did in several of the copies and abstracts.

But many copies contain the true account as an alternative, derived no doubt from notes by Frodo or Samwise, both of whom learned the truth, though they seem to have been unwilling to delete anything actually written by the old hobbit himself.

You get that...

That little council, the Council of Elrond, you get him in there talking about that.

I love all that stuff,

too, but it's like we're being overwhelmed with it with Tatum.

And his journey with the ring and how you can see the beginnings of it starting to corrupt him a little bit or like affecting his soul in some ways, you know, and obviously you'll see a lot more of that in the next two movies.

Yeah, I think the way he sells Frodo's resolve, to use that word again, during the Council of Elrond, when he realizes he's going to be the one that has to do this because everyone else is corrupted.

One detail watching that scene again that I had kind of forgotten about that I was quietly like, oh, I'm really impressed by, was the way he does speak up and everyone still keeps talking over him for a while.

It takes a few minutes before people realize that he said something.

crazy.

Yeah.

Yeah, I think as far as other scenes or moments in Fellowship that stand out to me, you know, we talked about the Council of Elrond scene, but that is such a great, you know, that is the scene where it's like, oh, the most incredible actors just all sitting together in a circle and having great dialogue.

You know, Hugo Weaving is there and, you know, all that.

So Gandalf chose Shadowfax.

He tells the story at the Council of Elrond.

"There is one horse that might have been foaled in the morning of the world.

The horses of the Nine cannot vie with him, tireless, swift as the flowing wind.
