COSAFA

We'll be having the under-20s that will be defending the CAF AFCON.

So you have seen our under-20s currently being crowned the COSAFA champions.

Now, that's the program that is talking to the technical committee.

I agree.

I've said it time and time again how important these junior, junior, um, competitions are specific to the member association and the zone within which we find ourselves.

Because for a long time now, you see COSAFA, you see CECAFA organizing these youth tournaments, um, for, yeah, under 20s, under 17s as well.

So it was just a matter of time where we get one of our own teams for the, the junior sides.

We do not have the outcomes like the men's in before they play their, which they use to, um, qualify for their World Cup.

Because when it comes to it, how you watch the Spanish U-seventeen team play, you would be able to draw a link between how the U-seventeen play to how the U-twenty play, to how the senior team play.

For Morocco, you'd be able to draw that link between how they play at the U-seventeen, U-twenty.

But when it comes to, uh, maybe even for Africa, whether it's WAFU A, WAFU B, um, COSAFA, CECAFA, I want to be able to see that link and also be able to see that development.

I think I did see that a bit, um, especially with Tanzania and how their U-twenty play.

I mean, uh, women's team.

Okay? Now, this one, the under 17 men's team will take part in region five COSAFA tournament in Maputo, Mozambique.

This tournament will take place from 14th to 13th December, or rather 4th, from 4th to 13th December.

The tournament will serve as an AFCON, uh, zonal qualifier.

So this under 17 for men is important because it will be used as a zonal, uh, as an AFCON zonal qualifier.

What the coach has done, Coach Chris Kaunda, he has summoned 30 players for the camp for the, for the re- regional five COSAFA, uh, tournament, which would, would serve as an AFCON zonal qualifier, like I said.

The COSAFA under 17 tournament will run from 4th to 13th December in Maputo, Mozambique.

Because we've seen how it's happened.

We played, uh, maybe younger squads at COSAFA, and they struggled in the beginning, uh, to control a game, et cetera, and we don't want that to happen.

Madagascar have shown a lot of improvement at, uh, the COSAFA Cups, and that's not something you can take lightly.

So we gotta make sure that we take the game away from them in the first leg to make the second leg, which is also played at home, a much easier game.
