Hospitality New Zealand Chief Executive Christy Phillips said the Ministry for Regulation's recommendations would make a measurable improvement in how hospitality businesses interact with the regulatory system.

And a bill in the Spanish Parliament to grant citizenship to around 100,000 people from Western Sahara has been passed in the lower house and will now be sent on to the Senate for approval.

The territory of Western Sahara was a Spanish colony until 1977.

However, Spain has not recognized the citizenship of those who were living during Spanish rule.
