Cornworthy

Her mother, Elizabeth Harris, uh, née Pomeroy, was literate and proactively managed her finances after the death of her husband, donating the land to the parish of Cornworthy in Devon for the maintenance of the poor.

Intriguingly enough, the, the, the, um, that charity is still running, um, in her name, um, in, in, uh, Cornworthy.

Southwell's reading was lifelong, and she was, like many early w- modern women, an autodidact, mixing together received domestic and embodied knowledge, and scriptural, philosophical, and historical knowledge.

Domestic knowledge appears in her poetry, for example, in her reference to the practice of head massage of infants to encourage the fontanelles to close.
