Corning

All right, before we get into it, let's do the mile markers, a quick check-in on what's happening around Krails Running Company this week.

Hey, can you believe that we're in Wine Glass week? This weekend is our first adventure of the season for, to the Wine Glass Marathon race weekend in Corning, New York.

We'll be going Friday to Tuesday.

We're throwing the kickoff, the race season together.

But we were in Naples, Florida, working on a safe house for women rescued from trafficking while we were in Memphis, Tennessee, working on a safe house to help women rescued from trafficking.

to prepare to go to Corning, New York, to work on a safe house for adult women who've been rescued from trafficking.

While we were in Buffalo, New York, doing eight days of Buffalo with 1,700 volunteers, helping out 294 families with free home repairs.

While we were in Maryville, Indiana, Gary, Indiana, for a tornado and then a derecho, two different deployments.

So if you do a line from Syracuse down to the Pennsylvania border, I had everything west of that all the way to Buffalo.

And then when Alderwoods came along, I was still in the management position, but then eventually I moved back to the Corning Elmira area where I had the four locations, because they were going to restructure.

And I said, yeah, you know, to be honest with you, I was missing funeral directing.

because I was always on the road in between these locations.

I mean, people have connections.

But at the same time, you take a service like that.

Let's say that that happened up here in little Corning, New York, okay? Duane, Reverend Dr.

Billy Graham just passed away.

Yeah, it went okay.

So the, the plan was to run marathon pace cause two weeks from now, I mentioned this on the last pod that we did just Eric and Keaton and I, I'm going to keep to, um, Corning, New York to run the wine glass half.

Um, hopefully that's a pretty good day.

I was been checking the weather.

But, uh, yeah, like get definitely snag a nice PR and really get that like confidence boost you're looking for.

So, uh, and then I just kind of peeked at the weather.

It looks like in Corning, you should have 45 or so at the start.

So it should be good.

But, you know, check Mandragora Magica, check Facebook, check social media and see if there's one near you, 'cause there's so much to do.

And last year at our pagan pride, we've probably talked about this repeatedly, but Crystal City Circle was introduced to people that became part of our community all the way up in Syracuse, which is two hours roughly away from Corning, New York.

And because people come from all over, we were able to meet local people and make connections.

We were able to help people connect with groups in Western New York and with the Northern Tier Pagans.

So this is like a whole other way of doing, you know, having a puppy and having her be involved and all that stuff.

So long story short, it took three days for me to go from, I guess we're getting a puppy to to going up to Corning, New York.

We road tripped to Corning, New York, which was five hours each way in one day.

And we picked up our puppy and he's adorable.

He's 11 weeks old.

Um, another doctor that lived there, his name was Dr. Ingersoll.

He was a psychologist who had a, um, facility in Corning, New York for...

This was 1875.

And his, his, uh...

It was a sanatorium he had up in Corning, New York for...

It was for wealthy white women who were suffering from an anxiety that they couldn't understand, and his treatment involved them, uh, getting in touch with their sexuality.

He said it was their God-given right to enjoy sex, and they were always told that they weren't supposed to.
