Copper Mountain

So the flow is really natural, and I think it's gonna work out extremely well.

I know you're a Winter Park guy, but it, you know, the, the, the viability.

You know, put that down in your list if you, if you wanna actually day ski, and maybe you have an Epic pass, but you wanna...

You miss A-Basin.

Uh, and then Thursdays, Copper Mountain is again doing $99 Thursdays.

Their PlayforEvery Thursday is, and a portion of that goes to a good cause.

So if you buy a Monarch season pass, which I believe now is, what, $659 million? less if you renew it, it comes with a lot of reciprocal days.

Some of the big ones that people probably are really attracted to three days at a basin, three days at copper.

Now there's blackouts on that, but still it's freaking copper mountain three days at purgatory.

And then three days each at all of the mountain capital partners owned skiers, which purgatory is one also Arizona snowball.

And there's a bunch more.

look at it as other skiers like are not our competition right like there's there's 350 million people roughly in the united states less than five percent actually skier snowboard right so there's there's a lot of people out there that just need to be introduced into the sport um rather than trying to fight for visits between resorts so so one of the things is just how do we get more people skiing and snowboarding, which is obviously a huge conversation you could talk about forever.

But with this one, it's just like, hey, these are other resorts that are interested in also giving their pass holders, as well as ours, different experiences out there.

And I think that's one of the things that's really cool about um the ski industry like like monarch is not copper mountain copper mountain is not monarch we're two different offerings um we both understand that and we're we're also willing to allow our pass holders um to try each each out um while still knowing that like most people that have a copper pass They're not migrating to Monarch because they came here for two days.

They're hosting Golden West this weekend.

Volleyball at Hancock beat Copper Mountain, and they're playing Taft tonight.

Women's soccer beat Santa Monica 2-1, then Taft 3-0 and 4-0.

Like the men, they are hosting Antelope Valley next.

I talk to Carl Kabuzinski all the time, but I haven't had him on the podcast in four years.

Um, that first day we go up and over, um, one of the higher points for the trip, um, called Kokomo pass.

And then we were going to drop down towards Copper Mountain ski resort.

Um, Yeah, walk me through day one for you guys, what were kind of the thoughts, how did things shake out, things to note, I guess.

It's just up from Copper Mountain, and they do have trails that go... up to it from copper mountain.

So I, I almost wonder if the ski resort manages it or built it and have had the lease or something like that, but it's public land with a really cool off grid cabin on it.

It's a big climb to finish.

You go up Copper Mountain, I think it is, and it's over 12,000 feet.

And I finished, I was doing that in the dark.

I was pushing hard that segment to finish it, and I just felt good.

Well, speaking of brain stuff, let's get into these roller coaster stories.

So first, a woman was ejected from a roller coaster at Colorado's Copper Mountain and dragged along the track for about 30 seconds.

So is this what you're getting from this story, too, is that she was technically in her seatbelt the entire time?
