Copenhagen Pride

It's the home of quite a large Pride event.

The main Copenhagen Pride event is sort of a week-long set of activities culminating in this kind of parade on the weekend.

And so I would be spending lots of time hanging out in the different kinds of events during the week and then also attending the parade, as well as paying attention to some of the not exactly counter events, but some of the events that were going on kind of in in some kind of like in sometimes in protest of the of the main sort of mainstream pride events.

As it pertains to Copenhagen pride, what are the kind of dominant or mainstream political ascriptions to that? The question here is around what is the state of play when it comes to gender and sexuality in this city, country or region?

I think sort of within sort of the mainstream sort of LGBTQIA plus politics you encounter, there's been kind of increasing, increasing focus on sort of trans inclusion within those movements.

as well as I think an increasing focus on kind of international questions, which came to be important for the research.

around migration, around certainly in 2024 and afterwards around Palestine.

And of course, that's another tension that was kind of live throughout the research, especially once the genocide in Gaza was fully underway.
