Copa Tejas

Does this

extend the Copa Tejas then?

Charlie said the exact same thing.

He just goes, he goes, Copa Tejas.

And I was like, I didn't even think about that angle.

Like, I don't know whether they've given out that trophy already.

And it could be a good one for Dallas, Ryan, because there is silverware on the line.

Dallas already has brought home Copa Tejas.

They have El Capitan.

But a lesser known trophy on the line on Wednesday, it's the Lamar Hunt Pioneer Cup, which started many, many years ago.

And they've only played once since 2023.

It's just a cool celebration for somebody who was such a pioneer and such an important piece of this early league, keeping it alive, keeping it afloat, to now see what teams like Columbus have gone on to do and the fan base that they've built and the stadium that they've gone on to build and similar growth that we've seen here in Frisco as well.

Dallas does win the Pioneer Cup, and they obviously have already won Copa Tejas and El Capitan in the Texas Derby.

Does that mean that we're destined to play Chicago Fire in the MLS Cup for the

Yeah, it's interesting that we've got two in-state derbies going on in the playoffs.

I mean, we've got to, uh, Copa Tejas playoff edition between El Paso and San Jose.

And then we got the Publix Cup minus Jacksonville, of course, who wouldn't even bother qualifying.

But that's going to be an interesting one as well.

Chicago clinched their spot in a loss at the New England Revolution, where the Rebs were really good, led by Peyton Miller.

And Houston clinched their spot in a wild Copa Tejas draw against their rivals Dallas.

Two penalty kicks were called in stoppage type.

One for either team.

When I think you're mentioning that Philly game, I think I remember that.

I think that was the same weekend that we were up in Frisco.

For that Copa Tejas match, hanging out with Dorans and everything.

Because I want to say we backed Philly, of course, in that game.

But if you're listening there, go search the on demand player anywhere you get your podcast for the rest of the show.

Let's start with the Copa Tejas.

Wild match between Houston and Dallas.

Houston sort of builds in the second half.

Dallas winning El Capitan, winning this rivalry.

They already won Copa Tejas with their results against Houston and Austin earlier in the season, but now make it seven out of nine seasons in which Dallas has controlled the cannon maybe we'll see Houston later on in the playoffs that would certainly be fun with the fireworks that ended this one tonight I'd love it but we thank you so much for listening in tonight whether you're at the game on the way home right now safe travels if you were Dallas will next be in action on Saturday at home against the San Jose Earthquakes as big as this one was that one in terms of the standings may be even bigger Third against fourth as things stand for the Earthquakes, who have had an excellent season.

They're trying to finish strong, and they're coming to town, bringing the best road record in the Western Conference to town.

Make sure, if you can be there, that you are there and rooting on this team as they head towards the playoffs.

All right, we will wait then until what happens, but it's going to be 7.30 at Shell Energy Stadium for FC Dallas versus Houston Dynamo.

Copa Tejas is secured, but Dallas can lock up El Capitan, maybe even lock up a playoff spot if they haven't already by the time you've heard this, and make their way up the Western Conference ladder with a win.

And, of course, it's the Derby.

You always want to win it.
