Copland.

They're making a TV show, Copland.
Tom DavisHOST
25:27
That film is one of the greatest films.
Romesh RanganathanHOST
25:28
Killing them.
ScottHOST
81:01
just...
ScottHOST
81:02
I'll just direct people to the latest Thinking Paws episode where I managed to pair Copland with Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone with The Conqueror starring John Wayne as Genghis Khan.
ScottHOST
81:18
It was one of the funniest watching experiences of my life.
ScottHOST
81:22
I watched them both on the same night and it was amazing.
Dave HanrattyGUEST
24:32
And I'd argue that there's only a handful of roles that he's truly excellent in.
Dave HanrattyGUEST
24:35
Copland, for example, if you've seen that, he's wonderful in that movie.
Dave HanrattyGUEST
24:38
But he's so good here because the character has so many layers and some of them are not nice.
Dave HanrattyGUEST
24:43
But deep down, he is a human being.

Dave HanrattyGUEST
31:09
here? He talks about creepos and he's warning a young lady in the neighbourhood against creepos.
Dave HanrattyGUEST
31:13
But his pursuit of Adrian I find quite questionable.
Dave HanrattyGUEST
31:16
And I'm just wondering, is this a lovable character? Is it a likeable character? Does this character work because he's a real human being? Stallone is extremely good at playing vulnerable and like I say he does that in the aforementioned Copland he does it in Creed when Creed rolls around one of the best scenes in that movie is when he has a fight with Donnie and afterwards he's talking to himself and he's like oh why'd you have to go and do that like it's all your fault he's got similar stuff in this as well where like he's you know, when he's rehearsing in front of the mirror, taxi driver style, to try and, you know, impress Adrian with his jokes.
Dave HanrattyGUEST
31:43
But I found myself being like, is this guy, like, what are they doing? Am I rooting for him? Am I not rooting for him? Again, I think there's more to the character than this kind of just Neanderthal.
Tom GulleyHOST
36:14
And a guy, I will repeat, is underrated for his directing and his writing ability.
Tom GulleyHOST
36:22
And if you saw him in Copland...
Tom GulleyHOST
36:25
I think Copland is one of the greatest performances of an actor in any movie.
Tom GulleyHOST
36:30
He's amazing in it.
Tom GulleyHOST
36:32
That's our buddy Sylvester Stallone.
